Hello and Namaste

Welcome to my page! I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in development economics, health economics, & public policy. I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Iowa in August 2021, and I am currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at Western Illinois University.


My research uses observational or administrative data and a range of econometric techniques to analyze economically relevant problems. For more information about my publications and research agenda, please check out my research page.


I enjoy teaching and connecting with students both inside and outside the classroom. I have taught a range of undergraduate courses, including Principles of Microeconomics, Global Poverty, and Regression Analysis & Forecasting. I also have experience instructing graduate-level courses such as Advanced Mathematical Techniques and Economic Development.


Biography: I was born and raised in Nepal. In my free time, I enjoy capturing photos of animals, birds, and unique architecture. I also create acrylic artwork and mandalas and experiment with new recipes. I am passionate about learning new languages and exploring different cultures.
